What the Cat Dragged In!

One of the things that cats are most famous for is hunting down and depositing random “gifts” at the feet of their people. Back when my cats lived partially outdoors, those gifts might have squeaked or peeped or slithered. Nowadays, my cats live solely inside, so those treasures are less likely. Nevertheless, there’s still enough wildness that the thrill of the hunt sometimes creeps in. A cat is still a cat, after all. As a result, I have received any number of odd things over the years—a long-lost ribbon, a dead spider, a dust bunny. My intention here is the same—to drag onto the page whatever random thoughts I can catch, and then share them. And I promise: no creatures will be harmed in the process.
